Specialized Stress Treatment in Scottsdale, Arizona
- Brain-Based Treatment qEEG brain mapping shows us exactly where your stress response is stuck. We build your treatment plan from real data, not a checklist.
- Body Work, Not Just Talk Chronic stress lives in your body. Somatic therapies and breathwork address the tension, sleep disruption, and shutdown directly.
- Nervous System Regulation PEMF therapy and neurofeedback train your system to downregulate on its own, not just while you're in session.
- Flexible Program Intensity PHP and IOP options for people whose stress has outgrown what a weekly appointment can realistically address.
- Levels of Care
Stress Treatment at Every Level of Care
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
When stress has taken over your sleep, your focus, and your ability to function through a normal day, an hour of therapy a week is not going to reverse it. Our partial hospitalization program runs 5 days a week, 5 to 6 hours daily, for 4 to 8 weeks. That kind of concentrated time lets your nervous system actually reset instead of just getting a brief break before going back to the same patterns.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
If your stress is disruptive but you can still manage parts of your day, or if you're stepping down from PHP, our intensive outpatient program gives you 3 to 4 hours of treatment, 3 to 5 days a week. You keep working or handling responsibilities while still getting the level of support that weekly therapy cannot match.
Private Therapeutic Retreats
A concentrated 3 to 5 day experience for people who need deep, focused work without the structure of a weekly program. Retreats combine individual therapy, neurofeedback, somatic work, and nervous system regulation into an intensive format. This option works well for executives, caregivers, or anyone whose schedule makes ongoing daily programming difficult.
Chronic Stress
Chronic stress is what happens when your body's alarm system never fully turns off. It is not about one bad week or a rough month. It is the kind of stress that has been running in the background for so long you have stopped noticing it, even as it erodes your sleep, your patience, and your ability to think clearly. Most people with chronic stress do not realize how much they have adapted to functioning in survival mode.
Common Symptoms
- Constant low-level tension
- Trouble falling or staying asleep
- Irritability over small things
- Brain fog and poor concentration
- Jaw clenching or headaches
- Feeling wired but exhausted
- Digestive problems
How We Treat Chronic Stress at Redefine
Treatment for chronic stress starts with CBT to identify and interrupt the thought loops that keep the stress cycle going. The evidence on CBT for stress-related conditions is strong, and results tend to hold. We pair it with direct nervous system regulation through breathwork and vagal toning so your body learns to downshift, not just your thinking. Most clients report sleeping better within the first two weeks. The approach works because it addresses both the cognitive patterns and the physical hold stress has on your system.
Burnout
Burnout is not just being tired. It is a specific kind of depletion that happens when you have been running on obligation for so long that your capacity for caring, for effort, for basic motivation has bottomed out. You might still show up and perform, but something essential has gone flat. The cynicism, the detachment, the sense that nothing you do matters. That is burnout, and willpower does not fix it.
Common Symptoms
- Emotional exhaustion
- Dreading work or responsibilities
- Feeling detached from people you care about
- Loss of motivation or purpose
- Cynicism or resentment
- Physical fatigue that rest does not fix
- Difficulty concentrating
How We Treat Burnout at Redefine
Burnout recovery needs more than a vacation. We use PEMF therapy and structured breathwork to address the cellular-level fatigue and nervous system depletion that rest alone cannot reach. Treatment also includes guided lifestyle restructuring and group support to help you rebuild sustainable patterns. The research on combined interventions for burnout is settled: programs that address both the person and their environment hold at 12 months. Single-approach treatments fade by six.
Work-Related Stress
Work stress becomes a clinical concern when it follows you out of the office and into your relationships, your sleep, your health. Maybe it is the constant pressure, the impossible expectations, or the feeling that you cannot say no without consequences. You know the job is wrecking you but you cannot figure out how to stop it without walking away entirely. That stuck feeling is what we treat.
Common Symptoms
- Sunday night dread
- Checking email compulsively
- Snapping at family after work
- Inability to disconnect or relax
- Chest tightness or racing heart
- Feeling trapped in your career
How We Treat Work-Related Stress at Redefine
DBT skills training gives you concrete tools for managing emotional reactivity in high-pressure environments. We add ACT-based values work to help you separate who you are from what your job demands. Boundary coaching addresses the patterns that keep you overcommitting. This is not about learning to tolerate a bad situation. It is about building the internal structure to change your relationship with work without blowing up your life.
Caregiver Fatigue
Caregiver fatigue builds slowly. You started taking care of someone because you love them. Somewhere along the way, the weight of it started taking care of you in the wrong direction. The guilt makes it worse because you feel like you should be able to handle this. You feel selfish for struggling. That conflict between what you feel and what you think you should feel is exactly what depletes people fastest.
Common Symptoms
- Guilt about needing a break
- Resentment toward the person you care for
- Neglecting your own health
- Feeling invisible or unappreciated
- Crying more than usual
- Withdrawing from friends
- Loss of identity outside caregiving
How We Treat Caregiver Fatigue at Redefine
Somatic experiencing helps release the physical tension caregivers carry without always recognizing it. Parts work addresses the internal conflict between the part of you that wants to help and the part that is drowning. We build in self-compassion practices that are practical, not abstract. Most caregivers who come in have been told to "take time for yourself" a hundred times. That advice is not wrong, but it is incomplete without addressing what is happening in your nervous system.
Life Transition Stress
Divorce, relocation, retirement, career change, loss, becoming a parent. Even transitions you chose can overwhelm your system when everything familiar shifts at once. The stress comes not just from the change itself but from losing the routines and identities that kept you stable. You are not falling apart. You are reorganizing without a map, and your nervous system is not sure what is safe anymore.
Common Symptoms
- Feeling unmoored or directionless
- Grief for a life that no longer exists
- Decision paralysis
- Sleep disruption
- Mood swings or emotional flooding
- Pulling away from support systems
How We Treat Life Transition Stress at Redefine
ACT helps you build psychological flexibility when the ground beneath you has shifted. Values work clarifies what matters now, not what mattered before the change. Individual therapy provides a consistent anchor while everything else is moving. We do not rush this. Transitions take the time they take, and the goal is not to "get over it" but to move through it with your nervous system intact and your sense of self updated, not abandoned.
Trauma-Related Stress
Sometimes what looks like chronic stress is actually trauma running your nervous system. If your stress response seems out of proportion to what is happening now, it may be connected to something that happened before. Trauma-related stress shows up as hypervigilance, reactivity, and a body that will not calm down no matter what you try. The stress is real. It is just not only about the present.
Common Symptoms
- Startle response to minor triggers
- Hypervigilance in safe environments
- Emotional reactivity that feels automatic
- Avoidance of places, people, or topics
- Difficulty trusting others
- Feeling on edge constantly
- Overlapping anxiety symptoms
How We Treat Trauma-Related Stress at Redefine
EMDR processes the stored memories driving your stress response without requiring you to retell the story in detail. Somatic therapies address the physical patterns trauma leaves in your body. The evidence on trauma-focused approaches is not ambiguous. The majority of people who complete treatment see their symptoms resolve, not just improve. These are not talk-it-out approaches. They work at the level where trauma actually lives: your nervous system, your muscles, your automatic reactions.
Nervous System Dysregulation
This is the one people rarely get diagnosed with but almost always have by the time they walk in. Your autonomic nervous system has been stuck in fight-or-flight so long it forgot how to come back down. Or it swings between overdrive and shutdown with nothing in between. The symptoms look like everything and nothing specific. Doctors have probably told you your labs are normal.
Common Symptoms
- Alternating between wired and flat
- Heart racing for no clear reason
- Temperature regulation issues
- Sensory sensitivity (noise, light, crowds)
- Chronic fatigue with normal lab results
- Feeling disconnected from your body
How We Treat Nervous System Dysregulation at Redefine
Neurofeedback trains your brain to self-regulate by showing it its own patterns in real time. We pair it with PEMF therapy to support cellular recovery and vagal toning to rebuild your system's ability to shift between activation and rest. This is the subtype where brain-based tools matter most. Talk therapy alone will not retrain an autonomic nervous system. You need interventions that speak the language your nervous system actually understands.
"Chronic stress isn't a scheduling problem. It's your nervous system running on high alert because it never learned how to come back down. That's where treatment actually starts."

How We Treat Stress at Redefine
Nervous System Regulation
Chronic stress keeps your autonomic nervous system locked in overdrive. Somatic experiencing helps discharge the tension your body has been holding. Breathwork and PEMF restore the flexibility your system needs to shift between activation and recovery.
Brain-Based Interventions
Prolonged stress rewires how your brain handles everything from sleep to decision-making. Neurofeedback trains your brain toward calmer, more adaptive patterns over time. The baseline shifts from reactive to regulated.
Evidence-Based Psychotherapy
CBT targets the thinking patterns that keep your stress cycling. DBT builds tolerance for high-pressure moments without shutting down. ACT helps you stop fighting stress and start building a life that can hold difficulty differently.
Restorative & Experiential Therapies
Stress doesn't stop when the session ends. Yoga, guided meditation, and coaching address the daily patterns, boundaries, and habits that either fuel or interrupt your stress cycle. These practices build the skills you take home.
Treatment is individualized based on comprehensive assessment. Your clinical team determines which combination of modalities addresses your specific stress patterns. No two treatment plans look the same.

Signs You May Benefit from Stress Treatment
- Your body is keeping score. Headaches, jaw pain, stomach problems, or chest tightness that your doctor can't fully explain.
- Sleep stopped working. You're exhausted but wired at bedtime, or you wake at 3 a.m. with your mind already running.
- Small things set you off. A slow driver, a full inbox, a question from your kid. Your reactions don't match the situation anymore.
- You're running on autopilot. Getting through each day but not actually present for any of it.
- Work is slipping. Missed deadlines, avoiding emails, zoning out in meetings you used to lead.
- You've pulled away from people. Canceling plans feels like relief. Being around others takes energy you don't have.
- Nothing restores you. Weekends, vacations, even time off doesn't help. The tension is still there when you get back.

Stress Treatment Works
The research is clear: chronic stress responds well to structured, evidence-based treatment. These numbers come from peer-reviewed clinical trials and meta-analyses.
A meta-analysis of 100 studies found that cognitive behavioral therapy achieves full remission in 51% of patients with anxiety disorders. That means half of all patients reach complete resolution through structured therapy alone.
In a multimodal stress treatment program, 71% of participants returned to full professional functioning and over 90% maintained sustained well-being at follow-up. Structured programs that combine modalities outperform single-approach treatment.
A systematic review of 69 randomized controlled trials found that relapse rates after CBT for anxiety-related disorders ranged from just 0% to 14% at one-year follow-up. Structured treatment produces durable results.
Mindfulness + Clinical Treatment
Mindfulness-based stress reduction programs produce measurable reductions in stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, with therapeutic benefits persisting for an average of 19 weeks after treatment ends. Programs like ours integrate mindfulness practices alongside clinical interventions for stronger, longer-lasting outcomes.
